George "Jorge" Charley
1909-2009
Dirty Murphy is saddened by the loss of their bass player, George "Jorge" Charley. George was a bass player first and a friend second....uh....we mean a friend first and a bass player second. The details of this tragic accident should server as a warning to all, that great care should be taken when consuming mass quantities of Guinness and Jameson's. The fans who attended his last show at The Tudor Lounge will never forget the sheer look of terror on George's face as his hair caught on fire, trigged by the deadly combination of beer and high wattage electric amplifiers. Yes, Tom apologized profusely for spilling yet another pitcher of Guinness into the bass amplifier, but this time it was too little too late as George's hair burst into flames, made worse by the Jameson's from his breath as he screamed desperately for help. The rest of the band stood by laughing, convinced that this was yet another example of George's witty sense of humor. But not this time. George, rest in peace my friend. Dirty Murphy is also pleased to announce George's replacement on the 4-string, Rob Murphy!
Yes, the ladies will love the latest addition to Dirty Murphy! Welcome aboard Rob! (OK seriously - George has decided to leave the band to pursue other interests.. Although the band will miss him, we wish him all the best! And Rob may actually be uglier than the rest of us - sorry ladies!).
